Influenster Review: Vacay VoxBox

I was lucky enough to receive the Vacay Voxbox from Influenster. The Vacay Voxbox contained many goodies for me to test out. The items inside the box were: Kiss Pageboy Blowout Lash, Invisibobble original traceless hair ring, Eva NYC clean it up shampoo, Eva NYC mane magic 10-in-1 primer, Sour Patch Kids iphone card holder, and a coupon to get a free bag of Sour Patch Kids Freeze Candy or Fire Candy. I received all of these complimentary for testing purposes and below is my review of all of these items.

Kiss Pageboy Blowout Lash: IMG_3758When I first saw these, I thought they were so hideous. I was so reluctant to try them out because of how they look. I tried them out anyways because I wanted to give a review over them. Once you open the box, a small bottle of glue is included in it. The lashes are very thin, but it was not difficult to put on. Once it was on, it didn’t look so bad at all. It gave me a very natural, subtle look. The glue held the lashes on very well. I had it on for pretty much an entire day and it never came loose (not even a little). I believe you can get these lashes at ULTA for about $5, which I think is a very great price point considering you get a small bottle of glue with the lashes and the lashes doesn’t look bad on. So if you want some cheap, not so bad looking lashes, and don’t want to buy glue separately, this may be your winner. img_4744.jpg

The picture to the right is for reference for the size of the glue bottle. If you think the lashes don’t look like the lashes in the picture above, it is because the lashes had been cut to fit me and worn.

Below is the only picture I have with the lashes on.

IMG_3671Invisibobble Original Traceless Hair Ring: When I saw these, I thought it was some sort of bracelet, and at the same time I was thinking that I would never ever wear this as a bracelet. However, when I actually read what it was (a hairtie), I thought it was some sort of joke. They look like they are for kids. I loved the color though because its my favorite color. When I actually tried this, I didn’t go back to any of my previous hairties. I absolutely love this hair tie. It keeps my thick hair tied up even while I am working out. IMG_4745.PNGThe only problem sometimes is that my baby hair will still escape from it, but I have the same problem with majority of hairties. What I love most about these hairties is that there are no crease to my hair even after a workout (where my hair is sweaty).

img_3690.jpgAfter a while of use, the hairtie becomes loose. However, if you put it in really hot water, it will shrink back to original tightness. The water has to be really hot though, like almost boiling hot or else it won’t work (unless I am doing it wrong).

Eva NYC Clean It Up Shampoo: Below is a picture of my hair before I used this product. The light made it look more shiny than it actually was but it was still very shiny. My hair was very healthy and smooth. IMG_3675I tested this shampoo out for about 2.5 weeks. The shampoo smells really really good. It reminds me of a bubble bath scent I use to have when I was younger. The smell is very very soothing. The shampoo lathers very well as well. I noticed that my hair felt heavier after one wash. After using this shampoo within the 2.5 weeks, I noticed that my hair became more coarse feeling and dull. img_4180.jpgI had to stop because my hair was dead. It went from being super healthy to being so dry and not as shiny as before.

Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer: This primer is suppose to do all of these things: detangles, nourishes, strengthens, softens, cuts drying time, adds shine, reduces frizz, and protects against thermal, environmental and uv damage. However, I didn’t really notice any difference when I used this. Just like the shampoo, this primer did smell really good. Besides that though, this primer didn’t improve my hair at all or even counter the dryness from the shampoo.

I will not be using these two products from EVA NYC ever again. My hair type doesn’t do well with these products.

Sour Patch Kids Freeze Candy: I got a coupon to get either the Freeze or Fire, and I chose the Freeze. The flavors are a lemonade variety mix which includes: lemonade, strawberry lemonade, cherry lemonade, and blue raspberry lemonade. When I first bit into the candy, I thought it was pretty tasty and flavors are very “lemonade-y.” However, there is a “cooling” sensation for the after taste and it felt like I was eating icy hot. After a few more bites, it just felt like I was eating some nasty cough medicine that left an icy hot taste in my mouth. I really did not like it at all. It is a cool concept by Sour Patch Kids, but I could not eat anymore after about 6-7 pieces. I wonder what the Fire would have tasted like.

That is my review over the vacay voxbox. Let me know if you have tried any of these products or if you have any questions over any of these. Thank you so much for reading!

Until next time,

Cassandra
